YURI KONDRATIEV, Teaching Associate
Yuri Kondratiev studied French at Berea College, KY and the Sorbonne, Paris IV before pursuing graduate studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he discovered his interest in the French Renaissance. His doctoral dissertation was conceived at the intersection between medicine and literature in 16th century France. He is currently working on his book manuscript, Unruly Bodies, and preparing articles: "Conceiving Pathology according to Jean Fernel: Pathologiae Libri and De Abditis Rerum Causis," Sixteenth Century Journal (Under Review) and "Corporeal Abnormality as Intellectual and Cultural Capital: Ambroise Paré's Monstres et prodiges, Montaigne's Essais and Jean Fernel's Pathologiae Libri," The Palgrave Handbook of Literature and Medicine, Palgrave Macmillan (Forthcoming: chapter in the book).
His research interests and areas of expertise encompass interdisciplinary studies, history of ideas, critical theory, history of medicine, aesthetics, and the body.
