Dear graduate students,
We have arrived at the point in the term when you are asked to evaluate your courses: to reflect on the work you have done, and to give feedback to your instructors. This term, over forty departments will use Brown’s online course evaluation system. [The following are not using the online system: French Studies, Geological Sciences, Latin American Studies, and Modern Culture and Media.] I am writing to encourage you to take the time to complete an evaluation.
You can access your online evaluations through your Banner self-service page at http://selfservice.brown.edu. Once you enter your secure Banner page, click on Course evaluations; you’ll see a list of the participating courses in which you are enrolled. You can complete your evaluations through January 3.
As is the case with all course evaluations, your comments will be completely confidential. Course instructors will not be able to read your feedback until final grades are submitted.
Please note that questions about teaching assistants (TAs) are included in the online form. TAs will receive their evaluations and reports, beginning on January 8. TAs with questions about this system may contact Kathleen McSharry, Associate Dean of the College, at 863-2536 or by email.
Thanks for participating in this important aspect of the teaching mission at Brown.
Peter M. Weber
Dean of the Graduate School
