Augusta (Guta) da Silveira de Oliveira holds both a M.A. and B.A. in History from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, where she studied women's representation in politics and transgender social movements. In 2013, she spent a semester at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), in Argentina, on a Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM) fellowship. She is a Fulbright-CAPES PhD fellow and plans on studying lesbian sociabilities with a focus on twentieth-century Brazil.
