The Cogut Institute offers doctoral students associated with the humanities the opportunity to apply for a limited number of grants in support of research travel abroad. Grants may cover transportation, housing and other research-related expenses; they may not cover language training courses. Preference will be given to dissertation-related research.
Travel grants are available to doctoral students. Preference will be given to dissertation-related research.
Applications will be accepted beginning April 2, 2018 with a deadline of April 30, 2018. To apply, the following must be submitted electronically through use of this form:
1. An abstract (no more than one page) outlining your planned research and how it would benefit from the proposed travel.
2. A detailed budget (up to $2,500).
3. A letter of support from your department's Director of Graduate Study.
4. A letter of support from your advisor.
You must be logged in to your Brown email to access the application form.
Letters of support may be emailed separately to email@example.com. All recipients are expected to submit a narrative report (no more than two pages) of their trip to the Cogut Institute at the conclusion of their travel.
