World Language Program

The program in World Languages and Cultures is the academic home to six modern languages, four of which are designated critical:

  • Arabic
  • Persian
  • Turkish
  • Hindi/Urdu
  • American Sign Language
  • English for International Graduate Students

As an academic unit, the program in World Languages and Cultures caters primarily to undergraduates, offering courses in an array of languages and cultures that intersect with the instructional goals of a great number of Brown concentrations, centers and departments, and provides the foundation for productive interdisciplinary studies and research.
