Forrest Gander Awarded Witter Bynner Award

In April 2011, Forrest Gander was one of two poets to receive the Witter Bynner Award at a ceremony which took place at the Library of Congress. The Witter Bynner fellowships are used to support the writing of poetry.

The Literary Arts Program presents "Keithstrasse: Celebrating Keith Waldrop," a two-day event honoring poet, publisher and Brown University professor Keith Waldrop, who will be retiring this year after 43 years at Brown. The Keithstrasse event will include four afternoon and evening readings featuring C.D. Wright, Forrest Gander, Susan Howe, Cole Swenson, and many others who have been published by Burning Deck Press, the iconic literary press run by Waldrop and his wife, the poet Rosmarie Waldrop.

CD Wright wins National Book Critics Circle Award

CD Wright, professor of Literary Arts, is winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry for her most recent title, One With Others. The award was presented on Thursday, 10 March in New York by the group of more than 600 professional reviewers.
