If you are an undergraduate woman at Brown concentrating in mathematics (or Math-CS, Math-Econ) or you intend to declare one of these concentrations, you are invited to join the peer Mentoring Network.
Launched in January 2016, the Mentoring Network provides a multi-year support network for undergraduate women concentrating in mathematics, through establishing and strengthening connections between graduate students and undergraduates in the department. Because our goal is to foster long-term, multi-year connections, this program is primarily geared towards freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. However, graduating seniors are still welcome to sign up.
What does this involve?
(1) You will be assigned in small groups to a graduate student mentor from the mathematics department, who will meet with you in an informal setting twice a semester. (While we cannot guarantee a mentor, depending on how many students participate, we will do our best to provide you with one!)
(2) There will be an event with the whole group once every semester.
How do you sign up?
