Dr Matthew Siket named co-director of ED Stroke Program at Rhode Island & The Miriam Hospitals.
Begining on April 1, Dr. Siket will take over the co-directorship of the ED Stroke Programs at Rhode Island & The Miriam Hospitals from Dr. Todd Seigel, who is leaving to pursue a fellowship in critical care medicine. Dr. Siket completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University where he was a chief resident from 2010-2011. He completed a NIH funded fellowship in the Specialized Program of Translational Research in Acute Stroke (SPOTRIAS) within the Department of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital from 2011-2012.
Dr. Siket received his Master in Science in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Science from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He joined UEMF in September, 2012 and has a primary research interest in risk stratification in transient ischemic attack. In addition, Dr. Siket will oversee the ED stroke program, including operations of the TIA Observation Unit, and continue his innovative research in imaging-based risk stratification in TIA.
