Hasbro Children’s Hospital Emergency Department(ED) is a 34+ bed unit and a Level 1 Trauma Center in a pediatric tertiary-care facility, with over 53,000 visits per year. It is the only Pediatric Emergency Department in the region for families in RI, CT and MA. Over 25 board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine Faculty serve alongside a team of Pediatricians, Pediatric-Advanced Practice Providers, Pediatric Emergency Nurses and Child Life Specialists. Hasbro Children’s Hospital has access to pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty care, pediatric burn care and acute sedation services.
Rapid Treatment Unit (RTU). A unit designed and staffed to see patients with minor injuries or illnesses in an efficient manner with reduced wait times.
Pediatric Mental Health Services. The ED also provides care to pediatric patients in psychiatric crisis and is affiliated with Bradley Hospital, a children's psychiatric hospital and Gateway Healthcare[OFL1] , a non-profit behavioral health organization.
Pediatric Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), a six bed unit designed to provide extended care for ED patients in private, state of the art rooms, staffed by PED providers and PED nurses. The CDU excels in streamlining care for pediatric patients with conditions including, but not limited to, asthma, dehydration and possible appendicitis.
