Research efforts include early diagnoses and therapy of alcoholic steatohepatitis (ASH) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Other research investigations include identification and clarification of signaling pathways important in the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal malignancies that may provide new targets for early diagnosis and therapy using monoclonal antibody-based diagnostics and the development of cancer vaccines.
My clinical interests include acute and chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and gastrointestinal malignancies. I am particularly committed to hepatocellular carcinoma and alcohol induced liver disease and subsequent complications.
