About the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University serves a vital role in advancing the delivery of health care, medical education, and scholarship in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.

With strengths in ob/gyn subspecialties, the department boasts a top residency training program and outstanding fellowships. The Department is one of the few programs in the country to have all four American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology accredited fellowships: Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Breast Health, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The department also directs Alpert Medical School's core clerkship in obstetrics and gynecology, which has achieved national recognition for innovation in faculty development and performance-based assessment.
