Why did you choose WIH/Brown OB/GYN?
As a medical student at Brown, I remember working with various WIH attendings and residents and loved their enthusiasm, commitment to teaching, the supportive environment they created and looked to many of them as mentors and role models. Realizing that much of my passion/interest came from time at WIH, I couldn't imagine a better place to train as a resident.
What are your interests within OB/GYN?
General interests include global health, health disparities, and medical education within OBGYN. While it's too early to think about post-residency plans, my med school research was related to gyn oncology and I have an interest in caring for women with cancer.
What is your favorite thing to do in Providence or Rhode Island?
I love the Saturday Farmer's Market in Lippitt Park during the Spring & Summer - amazing food, flowers, and people/dog watching. Also love how easy it is to go to the beach for even a few hours!
Where do you live?
East Side of Providence, Fox Point Area. It's super close to work, with lots of restaurants, stores, and bars nearby.
One fun fact about you:
I'm a big foodie and PVD is a good place to be for that! I'm always looking for the new restaurant or bar in Providence and happy to give recs! My favorite restaurant is Al Forno's and my two favorite bars are The Eddy and Fortnight Wine Bar downtown.
One piece of advice for candidates:
People always told me "go with your gut" when it came to interviews and making my rank list, and I didn't really know what that meant. You will most likely love and fit in at many places so try your best not to stress and keep an open mind!
