The David A. and Heidi Kirk Duffy Cell Biology Laboratory is located in the Department of Orthopaedics at Rhode Island Hospital and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Mission

The mission of our laboratory is to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms that guide skeletal development and maintain homeostasis of bone and cartilage, and to use those knowledge acquired by studying skeletal development to facilitate the development of novel therapeutics to combat skeletal diseases and to regenerate musculoskeletal tissues in vitro and in vivo.

Teaching

Our teaching includes undergraduates, graduate and medical students of Brown University, and orthopaedic residents of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital. Trainees at various career stages and scholars with various backgrounds and academic needs are encouraged to apply and join our multidisciplinary laboratory. We also actively look forward to collaborations with academic institution, industry and private foundations.
