Inflammation Research Symposium October 13, 2022
Trauma and inflammation are the core subjects of research in the Division of Surgical Research, within the Department of Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown Medical School. Starting in 2003, the Division of Surgical Research has organized yearly 'Advances in Inflammation Research' Symposia formatted around lectures from outstanding investigators in the field of inflammation, presentations by junior investigators, and Meet the Professor sessions. The objective of this symposium is to provide a forum for the discussion of cutting edge research in trauma and inflammation between a distinguished panel of speakers and members of the Division of Surgical Research and faculty from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Not only has the Division been able to recruit outstanding speakers from various parts of the United States, but also has developed a growing attendance of investigators from regional research institutions that include Harvard, Yale, University of Rhode Island, University of Massachusetts and Brown-affiliated hospitals. Interactions with members of the faculty and attendees have resulted in many collaborative studies with members of the Brown community.
