Clery Act

Brown University makes information available regarding campus security policies and procedures as well as crime statistics reported to local law enforcement agencies.

In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), Brown University makes available information regarding campus security policies and procedures, as well as crime statistics reported to law enforcement agencies for the area where Brown University is located.

The Clery Act is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime.  

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is responsible for the collection and reporting of crime statistics, as required by the Clery Act. The most up-to-date information regarding campus security policies and procedures and crime statistics is on the DPS website
