BIOL 6534: Preclinical Elective in Neurological Surgery

Student Leaders:

Faculty Adviser:
Adetokunbo Oyelese, MD, PhD; Francesco Pucci, MD

The preclinical elective in neurological surgery is an introduction for medical students in their first and second
years of study to gain exposure to, and explore, potential interest in neurological surgery. This elective offers an opportunity to receive scrub training, scrub in on neurosurgery cases in the OR, attend outpatient clinics, go on rounds in the Neuro ICU, and attend Grand Rounds. In addition, we pair each student with a Neurosurgery Resident at RIH and host scrub training and a suturing workshop taught by residents.
