Medical Impact of Basic and Translational Science (MITBS) will provide 1st and 2nd year medical students of any scientific background level the opportunity to engage in intellectual discussions led by prominent AMS faculty in a small group setting. The class will discuss original literature describing the discoveries behind many of the key topics taught in the 1st year curriculum, therefore deepening their knowledge of those topics and strengthening their appreciation of the basic science underlying modern medicine Prior experience with research literature reading is not required.
