BIOL 6690: History of Medicine

This course will survey various topics in history of medicine, including origins of neurology and neurosurgery, modern psychiatry, health advocacy and activism, opioid addiction, and anatomical dissection in medical education, among others. The class will consist of approximately 8 seminar-style lecture/discussion sessions, plus final presentations by students (individually or in small groups) on topics of their choice. Students do not need any prior experience to take the course.
