Student Ambassador Application

The Brown Medical Student Ambassador Program is designed to create opportunities for medical students to connect with medical alumni, parents, community members, and University leaders through the Office of Biomedical Advancement. Student ambassadors will be expected to represent the diverse opinions, thoughts, values, and realities of a Brown medical education. Ambassadors will be asked to attend events and serve as student representatives of Alpert Medical School. In addition, they will be available to the Office of Biomedical Advancement to provide advice and insight regarding the alumni-student connection, and to act as a voice for their fellow medical students.

Student ambassadors will be invited to attend a variety of gatherings for alumni, parents, community members, and prospective donors to assist with cultivation by sharing stories of their medical school experiences. Ambassadors might also be invited to Advancement staff meetings to relay personal stories that fundraisers can share while on the road visiting prospective donors. In addition, students will be asked to provide feedback regarding engagement strategies, fundraising initiatives, and communications at various times throughout the year. Feedback and attendance at events will be requested via email.

A group of 12 to 16 Ambassadors will be selected annually, with the hope that they will serve for more than one consecutive year. Through their participation, Ambassadors will have the opportunity to network with Brown medical alumni, many of whom are leaders in their fields. The estimated time commitment is 20 hours per year. Interested students may complete a brief application.
