A Massachusetts native, Maheen was thrilled to return to New England to pursue her neurology residency training at Rhode Island Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University before matriculating to Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. During medical school, Maheen was actively involved in medical writing endeavors such as helping to write a book on osteoporosis and exploring professionalism themes addressed by medical students. She also volunteered in various organizations to promote mentorship and early literacy to children. Outside the world of medicine, Maheen loves brunch, traveling, young adult fiction, and reruns of The Office.
