Scott was raised in Springfield, Illinois and attended the University of Florida where he majored in Materials Science. After graduating from the University of Florida, Scott entered the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Minnesota where he pursued combined training in medicine and neuroscience. His research focuses on understanding how cognition interacts with sensorimotor pathways, with the hope of improving rehabilitation and prosthetic strategies for patients with brain injuries. Scott enjoys home improvement projects, cheesy science fiction,and teaching his children new tricks.
