Just Do It: Mentoring Students through the Research, Writing, Presenting and Publishing Process

DESCRIPTION: An interactive presentation and discussion on how to best mentor medical students and trainees who want to pursue scholarly activities. The session will focus on mentorship best practices, and how to manage common challenges and pitfalls while maximizing productivity and positive relationships. The session will also address the resources that are available to medical students, trainees and faculty who are engaged in scholarly work.

                       Registration and light refreshments 5:00-5:30pm
                       Presentation: 5:30-7:00pm

AUDIENCE: This session is open to all faculty and is especially appropriate for any individuals who work with trainees on scholarly pursuits. Those individuals include, but are not limited to, faculty involved in the Scholarly Concentrations Program, faculty who mentor summer projects, faculty who precept students in their Community Health projects, and any residents who collaborate with medical students on scholarly work.
