Arlen Austin is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. He holds a BA and MFA from Columbia University. In addition to his scholarly work, Arlen is a practicing artist working in video and multimedia installation. 

Research Interests: marxist feminisms; welfare rights movements; feminism and psychoanalysis; queer theory and agitprop; participatory art practice and neoliberal cultural policy.
