Kavin Nunez was recently awarded a F99/K00 NIH Blueprint Diversity Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. This prestigious award will fund the last year of Kavin’s PhD thesis in the lab of Dr. Karla Kaun investigating how internal state affects cue-induced recall of ethanol intoxication in Drosophila melanogaster, and provide four years of funding for his future post-doctoral position focussed on understanding the circuit basis of of internal state affects decision making.
