Chamber Music Performance
MUSC 0680/0681
Lois Finkel, Director

Participation in Chamber Music Performance is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, as well as RISD students. Faculty, staff and members of the Brown and RISD communities may also be allowed to participate depending upon what openings are available after every effort has been made to place Brown and RISD students in ensembles. All prospective and returning participants are required to audition each September.

Material for audition includes one three octave scale and arpeggio, a solo piece, and sight reading from standard chamber music repertoire.

If you have difficulty finding an audition time that works for you or have questions about preparation, contact Lois Finkel at

Attention Returning Students: if you have already participated in AMP Strings or your Chamber Music group from last year intends to continue with 100% returning membership, you may be permitted to skip a re-audition. If you qualify, please visit Lois Finkel on either Monday, September 3 or Wednesday, September 5 in the Morrison-Gerard Big Studio between 1-2pm to fill out a form.

Auditioning for Orchestra, too? If you are auditioning for the Chamber Music and/or AMP Strings and for the Orchestra, there are a few opportunities to consolidate your auditions into just one appointment. Tuesday 10-1pm; Wednesday 2-5pm; Thursday 10-12pm. If you are interested in combining your auditions, please see if any spots are available on the Tuesday-Thursday Orchestra forms where these joint auditions opportunities occur.
