The E.J. Lownes Memorial Recital is an annual event made possible by the generosity of Mrs. Theresa K. Lownes in memory of her husband Edgar John Lownes and is hosted by the Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life.

Paolo Bougeat
was born in 1963 in Aosta. He studied music at the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” in Torino, where he received his diploma in organ and organ composition, and in harpsichord. He followed various post-graduate courses, and in particular those of Cremona related to the French organ repertoire, ancient, romantic and contemporary. To the activity of organist and harpsichordist, he also composes (he obtained prices and certificates in international competitions, and many of his organ compositions were published by the “Edizioni Carrara” in Bergamo), and as well teaches organ at the “Istituto Musicale Pareggiato della Valle d’Aosta”; moreover, he researches musicological documents: after his book “L’organo della Cattedrale di Aosta 1902 -2002” (Aosta, Musumeci Editore, 2002), his volume related to some of the most interesting organs of the Vallée d’Aosta were recently published (Editions “Le Château” – Aosta, 2012).
