Friday, June 1, 2018 @ 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Location: Grant Recital Hall

Crossings celebrates the deep and surprising connections between Eastern and Western cultures, from ancient times through the present. In a rich tapestry of readings and music, this cross-cultural collaboration includes works for pipa and string quartet by Zhu-Jian’er and Lou Harrison, alongside music of Maurice Ravel, Bright Sheng and Michio Mamiya. A highlight of this program is the collaborative presence of Yang Wei, internationally acclaimed pipa virtuoso and member of Yo-Yo Ma’s famed Silk Road Ensemble. Free and open to the public.
