Congratulations to pianist Brian Vuong on winning the 2017-18 Brown Orchestra Concerto Competition! Brian performed the Liszt Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major. As the competition-winner, Brian will perform a concerto with the Orchestra during the Spring 2018 semester. The other finalists were Scott Guo and Derek Xu. About Brian Vuong
Brian Vuong is a junior at Brown University concentrating in Biomedical Engineering. He is currently under the tutelage of Dr. Linda Jiorle-Nagy in the Applied Music Program (Piano), and had previously studied with Dr. Tao Chang of Azusa Pacific University and Bronislava Dvorkin of San Diego, CA. Brian has received prizes at various music competitions, including the LA Liszt Competition, the Henry and Carol Zeiter Piano Competition, and the San Diego Symphony Young Artists’ Competition.
