George Seidel came to Brown in 1962 after having held postdoctoral appointments at the Kamerlingh Onnes Laboratory, Leiden University and at Harvard University. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and his Ph.D. in 1958 from Purdue University. He has conducted research at the University of California, Berkeley and the Centro Atomico Bariloche, San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. During the 1999-2000 academic year he had a Senior Humboldt Research Award to work at the University of Heidelberg.
