The Department of Physics at Brown University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, starting in the summer of 2013. This position is part of an initiative for further growth in interdisciplinary science at Brown University, including the recent establishment of the School of Engineering. We seek candidates with demonstrated accomplishments in research and promise for future achievements in teaching and research.

Current research in condensed matter physics at Brown is very active across many topics, including strongly correlated electronic systems, spintronics, quantum liquids and solids, superconductivity, nanoscale physics, quantum phase transitions, ultrafast and quantum optics, semiconductor physics and devices, low temperature detectors, and soft condensed matter. Application materials including a curriculum vita, a statement of research and teaching plans, and three letters of recommendation should be submitted electronically to www.interfolio.com/apply/14028.
