Early Exploration

The PSTC frequently hosts Leadership Alliance participants during the summer months, providing undergraduate students from other institutions the opportunity to be mentored by leading scholars in their areas of research interest. Most recently, Siri Neerchal and Keren Herrán were mentored by PSTC faculty, gaining theoretical knowledge and practical research training.

Neerchal, a student in Mathematics and History at the University of Maryland, was mentored by Professor of Sociology Susan Short on a project measuring gender bias in a multidimensional framework.

Herrán, a student at University of Maryland Baltimore County, was mentored by Associate Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice Omar Galárraga. They collaborated on a systematic review on technology-delivered sexual heatlh education.
