Python and Data Science Workshop

This PSTC training is a continuation of the Getting Started with Python and Data Science Workshop that was held on August 28 and 29, 2019. In this workshop, participants will learn to use Pandas and NumPy packages to perform data manipulation with Python. Basic understanding of Python and Jupyter notebook is required.

This workshop will cover topics on data structures, I/O, selection, missing data imputation, merging, grouping, visualization, and other data wrangling techniques. Attendees are expected to work on a data science exercises to gain hands-on experience.

Space is limited and those who attended the last workshop will receive priority. Instructions on Jupyter Notebook installation and Python tutorials will be posted online before the workshop for those who did not attend the August sessions.

Open to students, postdocs, faculty and other researchers with a Brown University affiliation.

Requirements: Participants must bring a laptop with a Windows or Mac operating system that they have administrator permission on.
