Predoctoral Trainee in Sociology

Acosta's research interests include inequality, race, ethnicity, political participation, local governance, the relationship between civil society and the state, urban sociology, and political sociology. He's currently wrapping up a project looking at political attitudes and ethnicity in Bolivia and starting a project on an urban study in Central Falls, Rhode Island's most densely populated city. His hobbies include coaching youth wrestling, serving as the State Senator for Rhode Island's District 16, and contemplating the meaning of life at the GCB.
