Students must be in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and at least 15 years old during program.

Note: This program requires physical activity. Students will spend significant time outdoors engaged in activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.

Prospective students must apply for admission before the deadline. Many courses fill quickly, so students are encouraged to apply early.

Completed applications are submitted to the admissions committee for review. When evaluating applicants, Brown looks for academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and a readiness for participation in an independent academic environment.

Applicants will be notified by email when their application is complete, and are notified of the admissions committee's decision by email, usually within two weeks of the application complete date.

Accepted students must confirm their attendance with a $300 non-refundable program deposit. Once this deposit is received, students must enroll in a course through Course availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis so enroll early!

A complete application consists of 4 items:

  1. A completedonline Application Form »
    Parents and Students: Please be sure to create only one account per applicant. Course selection and enrollment takes place AFTER program admission and receipt of $300 program deposit.

    NOTE: The Upload Documents and Make a Payment tabs will become available after submission of your application and our system processes the application, which can take up to 24 hours. (Longer processing times occur over the weekend.)

  2. A $50 non-refundable application fee (payable securely online within via the Make a Payment tab)

    Accepted forms of payment include credit cards (MC/VISA/AMEX/DISCOVER) and ACH Payments. International applicants may pay by Flywire or wire transfer. Contact for payment instructions.
  3. A Teacher's Recommendation.
    An email will be sent to the educational reference submitted in the application.
  4. An official school transcript.
    Applicants should request an official transcript containing your most recent grades/marks for each course with an explanation of the scoring system in English (for example, 6=excellent or A=excellent). Please submit your transcript by using the Upload Documents tab within

Important Dates

Wednesday, 2/1/17 – Application deadline. Students may finish their online application form and essay up until 11:59pm EST and submit accompanying pieces next week.

Monday, 2/6/17 – Brown must receive $300 program deposit to confirm your attendance by this date. This deposit is non-refundable, except in the case that the program does not run.

On or Before Thursday, 2/9/17 – Program confirmation emails sent to students on or before this date.
NOTE: Do not book your flights or purchase plane tickets until you receive an email from Brown confirming the program.

Wednesday, 2/22/17 – Full payment, flight information, and all forms due. **Please notify us by telephone or email as soon as possible before Wednesday 2/22 if you require any medical or dietary accommodations.
