Fourth-year doctoral candidate, Chenyang Gu, will be defending his thesis on Wednesday, 20 July 2016. Gu's thesis is entitled "Statistical Missing Data Methods with Applications to Health Services Research"
To add to several distinctions during the course of his studies, Mr. Gu attended the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA) 2016 World Meeting last month in Italy. Mr. Gu was the recipient of the NSF-ISBA Junior Travel Support Grant and presented a poster entitled "Combining Item Response Theory with Multiple Imputation to Equate Health Assessment Questionnaires".
Mr. Gu's thesis advisor is Assistant Professor Roee Gutman and the remainder of his dissertation committee includes Professor Constantine Gatsonis, Professor Vincent Mor and Professor Ofer Harel from the Department of Statistics at the University of Connecticut.
Following Mr. Gu's anticipated successful defense, he intends to accept a post-doctoral fellow position with Harvard Medical School.
