2018 5K AIDS Run/Walk for Life

The 2018 5K AIDS Run/Walk for Life, held at Roger Williams Park, was co-sponsored by BRUNAP, Lifespan and others to benefit AIDS Project Rhode Island. The theme for this year’s event was “It Takes a Team of Heroes to Get to Zero” and encouraged participants to dress as their favorite superhero. Featured speakers included Governor Gina Raimondo, Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, Dr. Phil Chan, and Nick, Ron, and Pete Cardi. Over 150 runners/walkers, some dressed in superhero costumes, participated in the event. The Providence Gay Men’s Chorus performed and drag queen performers entertained the crowds.
