Irwin E. and Barbara Ginsberg P’84 Aging Research Fund

The Irwin E. Ginsberg P’84 Aging Research Fund was established as a part of the Brown University permanent endowment. This Fund provides support for Brown University medical or public health student projects related to aging and mentored by School of Public Health faculty, e.g., faculty affiliated with the Center for Gerontology & Healthcare Research or the Center for Long-Term Care Quality & Innovation.  Applicants may either submit a request to help identify an appropriate mentor while developing their application or independently identify a mentor and include that information with their application.

During this internship, applicants will:

•Gain theoretical knowledge and practical training in academic research

•Develop an abstract for a scientific meeting

Application: Submit a one-page proposal (12 -point font and 1-inch margins) to [email protected] by 5pm ET on March 17, 2023. Proposals should include objectives, and either (1) your mentor’s name and affirmation of their commitment to work with you or (2) a request to be matched with a mentor.

Funding includes: A summer stipend of $4,000. Applicants may also request support to register for and attend a conference, including travel, if presenting their project results one year.

Period of Performance: June 1, 2023-July 31, 2023 or July 1, 2023-August 31, 2023 (in-person or remote).

Deadline for Summer 2023: Applications must be received by March 17, 2023.
