Sarena Hayer is a second-year medical student at Alpert Medical School. She has a background in Gender Studies and Medical Anthropology, and is currently interested in embodied experiences in accessing reproductive healthcare and technology, intersections of agency and wellbeing, and disparities in reproductive health outcomes.

In the summer of 2018, she spent 10 weeks in Cape Town researching women's experiences using contraception in Khayelitsha, South Africa. In her upcoming years in Providence, she will continue to explore these interests locally and abroad through clinical experience and qualitative research.
