Providence, Rhode Island's capital city, is ideally located with easy access to major east coast cities and desirable New England destinations. The city is just 50 miles from Boston and 200 miles from New York City, and is served by a downtown Amtrak station and a major airport. The School of Public Health is located at 121 South Main Street in downtown Providence, less than one half-mile from the main campus of Brown University.
T.F. Green Airport is located about ten miles south of Providence and is only about a 15-minute drive to our campus. Taxi and shuttle services are available.
By Bus or Rail
The Peter Pan bus terminal is located to the north of downtown and but offers many stops at Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence. Kennedy Plaza is a 5-7 minute walk, or a quick bus or cab ride to 121 South Main Street. The Greyhound bus terminal is also located in Kennedy Plaza. The RIPTA bus line services most of Rhode Island and has several downtown stops, including Kennedy Plaza. For rail service, our offices are a 10-15 minute walk or quick cab from the Providence Train Station, which services Amtrak and the MBTA.
From the North and South
From I-95, take exit 22A - Downtown Memorial Blvd. At the bottom of the ramp, go straight through the first light and follow the river (divided boulevard) to the 5th set of lights (also the 5th bridge on the left over the river). Take a left onto Crawford Street, which turns into South Water Street once you cross the river). Over the bridge, bend right along the river. Take your first left onto Packett Street and then another left at the end of the block (it is a short side street). You are now on South Main Street (heading north). 121 South Main Street is the second building on your left. The parking garage can be accessed from the front of the building. There is limited, metered parking on the street.
