Mission and Activities
CAAS Rounds is a weekly science lecture series on topics designed to engage the School of Public Health in a variety of research and community health topics. Examples of recent talks include "Qualitative Research with Frequence Marijuana Users" given by Dr. Elizabeth Aston, and "Skills to Enhance Positivity in Suicidal Adolescents" given by Dr.Shirley Yen. In an effort to build community within the Center and beyond, the CAAS Rounds committee coordinates a biannual donation drive for various community-based organizations or non-profits. AIDS Project RI was selected for our upcoming donation drive due to its long history of service to the community. Furthermore, since CAAS received the Alcohol Research Center on HIV grant to support multidisciplinary research focusing on reducing the impact of alcohol on the breadth and depth of the HIV epidemic, AIDS Project RI is an extraordinarily appropriate agency for CAAS to work with.
