A Birthday Party for Frederick Douglass: Public Humanities Transcribe-a-Thon

Nightingale-Brown House

Come celebrate the birthday of Frederick Douglass with a transcribe-a-thon hosted at the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage!

The Center for Public Humanities will be joining the Colored Conventions Project (CCP) and scholars across the country in their efforts to transcribe important 19th-century historical documents from state and national political conventions. Bring your laptop and help us make this history more accessible! If you've never transcribed before, don't worry: we'll help you get started!

Pizza and birthday cake will be served. To learn more about the CCP and its national celebration of Frederick Douglass, visit www.coloredconventions.org/hbd. For more information about this Brown event, email Jim McGrath: [email protected].
