The Brown/RISD lecture series, "Curating Contemporary Art: Perspectives on Practice," was co-sponsored by the Department of Modern Culture and Media and the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities at Brown University, the Graduate Studies Division at RISD, and the RISD Museum.

The series featured Jay Brown, director of Liijiang Studio; Nato Thompson, chief curator of Creative Time, Abigail Satinsky, founding member of inCUBATE, Patricia Phillips, dean of Graduate Studies at RISD; Ana Paula Cohen, adjunct curator of the 28th Bienal de São Paulo and curator-in-residence at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College; Dara Greenwald, artist, writer, and independent curator; Helen Molesworth, chief curator at ICA Boston; and Debra Singer, executive director and chief curator at The Kitchen.
