Deadline for CSREA Faculty Grant Applications

CSREA is now accepting applications for Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 faculty grants. The deadline for applications is Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 11:59 pm.

CSREA Faculty Grants are designed to support the synergistic development of intellectual community and research on campus by funding and staffing campus-based events or supporting research focused working groups. We invite Brown University faculty and graduate students with faculty sponsors to submit proposals that focus on issues of race, ethnicity and/or indigeneity in the United States. Projects with U.S. related transnational dimensions are also invited. CSREA program grants will be supported by our space and staff based on scheduling and other considerations.

The maximum Faculty Grant Award is $3,500. Funds may be used to support speakers, lecture series, films, events, and symposia, as well as a clearly delineated working group for meetings, materials (books, etc.) visitors and presentations.

We accept proposals from all Brown faculty and postdoctoral fellows from departments and programs across the Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences. Collaborative proposals are encouraged (e.g., faculty within and across departments or even across local/regional institutions, and Brown faculty/student collaborations).
