MY5: Joy Through Civic Participation

Kiki Nyagah, Industrial Design Student and Community Organizer, Rhode Island School of Design

This exploratory talk centers around MY5–a civic participation initiative that aims to raise a new generation of cultural leaders and curious citizens who harness art to arbitrate change. It asks–what drives you to participate? How do you express your rights as a citizen? The initiative generates public events, exhibitions, and installations alongside University partners like Brown Votes and the Swearer Center, and community partners like Southside Cultural Center and Farm Fresh RI.
