The Department of Religious Studies at Brown University is pleased to announce that its 2020 graduate student conference will be held on March 6-7, 2020 in Providence, RI. Organized biennially, the conference gathers together a diverse array of graduate students and Brown University faculty with a keynote speaker from another institution for two days of lively dialogue and exchange on a variety of topics relevant to religious studies and its related interdisciplines. This year's conference, titled, simply, "Death," seeks to explore the significance of death and dying in and for the academic study of religion -- i.e., its social organization, rituals, doctrines, practices, and experienes -- and vice versa.
