Nick Hoynes ('18) Accepted into ASA Honors Program!

Senior sociology concentrator Nick Hoynes ('18) has been accepted into the 2018 American Sociological Association (ASA) Honors Program. Among other professional opportunities, Nick will present a paper at the Annual Meeting in Philadelphia originally prepared for Michael Kennedy's course in Knowledge Networks and Global Transformations.  Entitled “Universities, Think Tanks, and Transformative Change: The Limits of Professional and and Policy Research”, Nick extends Michael Burawoy's work on public sociology to identify some features of our nation’s major knowledge producing institutions that limit social change. Next year Nick will be pursuing a Masters in Social Analysis and Research here at Brown.
