Social researchers at Brown are analyzing and interpreting the social impact of COVID-19 all across the globe during this time of uncertainty.

Thomas Marlow has successfully defended his dissertation entitled: "Socioenvironmental Stratification in the Post-Industrial City​".

His committee members were Scott Frickel (Chair), Margot Jackson, and John Logan.

Apollonya Porcelli has successfully defended her dissertation entitled: "Upwellings: The Collapse of Peruvian Anchoveta Fishery (Engraulis Ringens) and the Rise of Sciences from Below, 1973-2000".

Professor Jayanti Owens has been selected as a  2020 William T. Grant scholar.
