Rachel McKane

Rachel McKane is a sociologist with research and teaching interests in environmental justice, urban studies, and political economy. Their current research seeks to better understand the connection between the distribution of environmental goods and bads (including transportation) and gentrification, displacement and other processes of urban change connected to racial capitalism and the neoliberalization of city development. Their other interests include exploring transformative approaches to environmental justice through mutual aid networks, coalition building in environmental justice movements, and equity in city level climate change plans.
