Campus Life

A Spirit of Community

At Brown, we value who you are as an individual. At the same time, a shared appreciation for embracing differences and perspectives unites us. We encourage vigorous and respectful debate to learn about the world and each other. Your fellow students will challenge you, support you, expand your worldview and become your friends for life.

You’ll have a stimulating social life with peers who care deeply about their work and the world around them.

A Home on the Hill

At Brown 74 percent of undergraduates — and all first-year students — live on campus. Our College Hill campus offers a classic New England college experience among brick quadrangles, scenic greens, soaring modern architecture, renovated centuries-old structures, state-of-the-art labs and world-class libraries.

All of this is located in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island’s vibrant capital — known for its innovative arts scene, exceptional culinary offerings and unpretentious vibe. It's easy to get here from Boston and New York City, and our campus is just a 30-minute drive to the beach!
