Student Activities at Brown University

Supporting student groups and programs, the Student Activities Office offers individualized advising, leadership development and community building to create an inclusive campus environment.

The Student Activities Office (SAO) supports the initiatives of 450+ active, recognized student organizations. Whether you're looking to join existing student organizations, launch your own group or explore leadership opportunities, SAO provides assistance such as event planning, advocacy for student group needs and coordination of university services.

News & Updates

The Student Activities Office has created a handbook for student organizations at Brown which is inclusive of all necessary policies related to recognition, events, safety, applicable campus policies, etc.
The Student Activities Office assists student organizations with on- and off-campus event planning, travel, budgeting, contracts, and more. Our staff can help you to navigate University processes to book space, order furniture, catering, or media services, or contract speakers.

Facilities

SAO provides oversight and coordination for three facilities that serve the Brown community — the Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center and both T.F. Green Hall and Alumnae Hall auditorium for student performing arts.

The Theodore Francis (T.F.) Green Hall, which re-opened after renovation in September 2003, is a student-run center for the arts.
